Review of the Elephant Man
The film, The Elephant Man, by David Lynch is a very powerful film which follows a man named John Merrick who is horribly disfigured due to a birth deformity. At first glance, the film mostly seemed to be about John Merrick, however, this wasn't the case. The true purpose of the film is to illustrate how John Merrick himself affected those around him. For example, the audience assumes that Dr. Treeves is a protagonist in the film, for he put in all of his effort to try and find a cure for John Merrick.
Bullying
Bullying has become a global issue due to recent events, such as the suicide death of Amanda Todd. The question that comes into mine for people, is that why do adolescents treat each other in such a way that result in suicides. Amanda Todd is not the only victim of this; however, her case became famous due to a video that she posted on YouTube which explained her entire situation. As a senior in high school I have witnessed a handful of cases of bullying; however, I have not experienced it myself. Despite the fact that I have been fortuitous enough to not have experienced first hand, I have had a few friends who are or have been victims of bullying.
