Week of May 1st

We had some difficulties with our actors for our narrative film so we had to put that production on hold and had to come up with another film idea. Our need idea is our rendition of the Phantom of the Opera which will be called the Phantom of Bell.

Week of April 17th

This week my production company and I have finished the screenplay for our second film, which is going to be a short narrative film. The screen play took us quite some time to finish because we had 6 pages of screenplay and we had intended our film to be around 3 minutes long: 4 minutes max. Today we are going to finishing the story boards and we plan to start filming this weekend in order to try and have the entire film completed by next week.

Week of April 10th

This week we pitched our idea for our second film. It is going to be a short narrative film about a couple, and how the boyfriend tries to do things for his girlfriend, yet he manages to mess things up. In addition, we also delegated with in our production company what day we are going to film. Our first film was a PSA and it came a bit better than we originally anticipated it to be.

Week of April 3rd

This week we had to re-film our entire PSA because it was stuck in the twilight zone: too long for a PSA and too short for a narrative film. As a result we went to one of our member's homes and one-shotted our PSA.

Week of March 27th

This week we finished filming the majority of our narrative film. We began shooting at the beginning of the week at one of our members' home. Once we got those shots we filmed our actor walking through the streets of the city of Bell as we made our way down to Veteran's Park. We ended filming there and the rest of the week consisted of editing our clips to what we have now: which is about half of our entire film.

What Music Means to Me

For me personally, music is my personal escape from the world around me. I listen to music in between classes when I need to relax a bit and forget about quizzes, tests, mid-terms, and final exams. I also like listen to music when I exercise. If I do not listen to music while I exercise, I am not putting my whole effort into the exercise because I may get distracted by something that is happening around me. I alternate between listening to rap and rock music. I enjoy listening to rock music because majority of the time, it is very loud and it allows me to get away. However, I also listen to rap music because the majority of rappers talk about their own personal experiences in their songs. One of my favorite rap artists is Logic because he talks about the struggles he had to overcome before he became a successful artist. For example, in his latest album he speaks about how he and his family used to live off of welfare  when he was young. Also he speaks about how he is self made, because put up $500,000 of his own money in order to produce his album.

Problems and Struggles

Teachers, administrators, and other students themselves may see a student at Bell High School and they will have no idea what problems that student may face when they are outside of the classroom. Additionally, the students themselves who might be facing problems at home, won't speak about them publicly for fear that they would be ridiculed or pitied. Some problems that the student may be facing is poverty. The parents of the student may not be well educated thus preventing them from acquiring a job  that pays more. As a result, the student may be prevented from attending school events, such as a dance, because their family cannot afford to spend money on something that isn't a necessity but rather a luxury. Also the student may not be able to afford to buy expensive name brand clothes which will lower their self-esteem because the sad truth in high school is that your image is important. Aside from financial issues, the student may also have an abusive parent. This will greatly affect the student both physically and mentally and thus affect their performance or interactions with others at school.

The most Interesting person In the World!

The most interesting person i know, would have to be my friend named Edgar. He is very interesting because he is very spontaneous an you can talk to him, and hold a conversation with him, with ease. Also he has very interesting stories about the times he has gone to the Burger King tat is near is home. For example, one time he was there, he saw a man walk into the restroom but he never saw him walk out. Also when he went inside to use the restroom himself, he was expecting to see the man inside but he was no where to be found. He is also an interesting individual, because he takes interest in things that most people would not take interest in. For example, he is teaching himself how to speak Russian and he can speak it fairly well; also he has a vast knowledge about computers and the way in which it runs: he built his own desktop.

My Anti Drug

My anti drug, without a doubt, would have to be weightlifting. Lifting weights is a good anti drug for me because when I get angry I can release that anger on the weights. The anger motivates me to push my limits until I have exerted every bit of anger out of me. At the end of the day not only would I have done something beneficial to my health, but I will also be more mentally stable. However, when I am unable to go and lift weights, my other anti drug would have to be playing video games. When I am playing, I purposely immerse myself into the game because I want to go away from the real world for a period of time. That way I can forget any problems that I may have and thus put myself in a happier place. Additionally, the fact that while I'm playing, my friends are also playing along with me so we go back and forth making each other laugh.

Inconvenient Truth

What I learned from an Inconvenient Truth, is that our Earth is facing climate changes which can possibly change the surface of the Earth. For example, the glaciers in the north pole are melting due to the increase of the Earth's temperature. If the glaciers in the north pole completely melt than the ocean level will rise about 20 feet. This may not seem like such a big deal; however, when taken into perspective this change in sea level can be disastrous for both people and cities around the world. For example, if the sea level were to rise 20 feet then the memorial for the World Trade Center would be completely submerged underwater. In addition to that, cities that are near the shores, such as San Francisco, would face a great deal of flooding. However, Norway, a country that is currently below sea level would be facing the most danger. Despite that, the most terrifying thing about the documentary, is the fact that the information presented in the documentary was from the year 2005. It is now 2015 and who knows how much further harm we may have caused to the planet.
